Standard: IEC 60794; VDE 0888
CONSTRUCTION:
Optical fibers:
SM – single mode optical fibers (9/125 µm)
(G.652D, G.655, G.657A1/A2)
MM – multi mode optical fibers (50/125 or 62,5/125 µm) according to ITU-T Recommendation
Material of fibers:
a) core – Silicon glass: (SiO2) doped with Germanium Dioxide (GeO2)
b) cladding: Silicon glass (SiO2)
c) primary protection: Dual layer of UV-cured acrylate resin
Secondary protection of fibers: Filled loose polymer tube of PBT elastomer, filled with tixotropic jelly mass, loose laid fibers within tube – SZ stranded
Tubing material: Polyester PBT-Polybutylene Terephtalate
Fibers and tubes designation: IEC 60304, TIA/EIA-598;
DIN VDE 0888
Central supporting element: FRP – Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, (Glass roving (thread) reinforced with thermoplastic resin)
Central element sheath: PE (or without sheath). Around/along central strength member – glass yarns doped swellable powder
Cable core:
Concentrically stranded: around central supporting element are stranded loose tubes and cords, if necessary, in layers
Watertight element: Cable core is dry filled. Swellable elements (yarns, tapes) are used as water protection.
Belt insulation: one or more swellable tapes, helicoidally or longitudinally wrapped
Peripheral supporting element: Aramide fibers doped swellable powder provide mechanical protection and water penetration.
Corrugated copolymer steel tape is firmly glued to the outer PE sheath and provide additional mechanical and rodent protection. Corrugated tape is also thermal protection, as well as protection against water penetration.
Sheath ripcord: one or more ripcord placed under outer sheath
Sheath: HDPE – high density polyethylene, black colour
APPLICATION:
These optical cables are use for outdoor application, water-resistant and resistant to UV-irradiation. Glass fibers provide resistance to tensile strains, rodent protection, suitable for fixed laying in cable ducts, conduits or direct burial. Corrugated steel tape provide mechanical, water and rodent protection and cable flexibility.
The permissible temperature range:
– during installation: from -5°C to +60°C
– during operation: from -30°C to +70°C
– during storage and transport: -40°C to +70°C
Min. permissible bending radius: acc. to IEC 60794-1-E11
Tensile strength, max. (N): on customer’s request
